In an unique place, the Center for Fine Arts in Brussels, a much-anticipated concert took place on December 19th : "Martha Argerich and friends play for Brussels". This designation was containing in itself a hint of what was going to be the essence of the concert : a stellar and charismatic figure, Martha Argerich, around whom have revolved world-famous musicians (inter alia Mischa Maisky and Nicolas Angelich). This concert highlighted music as a social connector, since we witnessed a beautiful musical friendship. Furthermore, it was a non-profit purpose, aimed at supporting the J.Border Institution. Placed under the high patronage of Her Majesty Queen Mathilde d'Udekem d'Acoz, this concert notably offered to hear "The Carnival of the Animals" by Camille Saint-Saëns with Mischa Maisky and his children Lily Maisky and Sascha Maisky. Martha Argerich's daughter, Annie Dutoit, was taking on the role of the reciter, reading the poetic and light-hearted texts of Francis Blanche that punctuated the different music pieces.
